A SECRET TREATY WITH MY SON'S AUTISM
My son and I share a secret bond that no one will ever understand. The moment I held him in my arms, I vowed to protect him, to keep him away from all harm.
Little did I realize then that I couldn't protect him from "HIS OWN MIND". So instead I decided to get into his mind, into his world๐. We formed a bubble for just him and me, one where words were really not needed, one where instincts and looks did all the talking.
When he was scared, he would hide under my blanket, and I would block his ears as if to hush the entire world. I helped him gain confidence to survive in such a loud world, gently patting his back to let him know that Mommy is still around.
Inch by inch we moved forward. And now my boy is growing wings and learning to fly. I am so proud of all that he is and all he continues to do every single day.
But on nights when terror and anxiety grip him, I am still there to take him back to our safety bubble until we are ready to fly again...
"This is a secret treaty I have made with your autism".
I cannot promise no hurt, no mean words of society, no staring and looks but one thing I can promise is a mom who will fight every day to make this world a better and kinder place for you my son. ....

Very well written! Hats off to your attitude in building your son 's confidence .
